Teaching Process:

Step1:Warming-up and revision

Play the song Hey ,Jude. Ask students ,What’s your favorite subject? Why do you like it?

Consolidate what have learned about describing the characteristic of different subjects;

Ask question like: What’s your/his/her/ favorite subject?

2. Ask students to make a survey and report it .students who reports it well can get a prize

Purpose:

Help students to revise the knowledge that learned, and lead in the topic of the reading.

Step 2: Pre-reading

1. Give questions to Ss before they read the passage.

Ask students to underline the things Yu Mei likes and circle the things she doesn’t like.

2 .Let Ss read the passage and find out the answer.

3. Read the passage and find out the answers.

Purpose : Bear several questions in mind, students will read actively.

Step 3: While-reading

1. Ask Ss to be concentrated.

2. Get Ss to guess the meanings of the new words in the passage according to the context.

Step 4 Post-reading

1. Ask Ss to answer the questions.

(1) What does Yu Mei do at 8:00?

(2)What does Yu Mei do at 9:00?

(3)What does she think of science?
