Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Greeting

This class we will learn” Unit 7 How much are these socks?” And in this part, we’ll ask about clothing and thanks for people.

Step 2 Lead-in

T: The weather is a little cold. So, let’s look at your classmates and talk about what we worn today.

T: How about this one? What color is it?

(Review color words: blue, red, black, white, yellow, brown, pink, purple, green…)

T: We have learnt the color of our clothes, but what we wear and how much are they are new to all of us. So today let’s learn about it.

Step 3 Learn the new words

T: Please turn to page 100 and look at the new words of Unit 7. First, look at the first word, how to read?

Ask one student to read the new words and others follow him or her.

The teacher leads reading.

Ask the students to read the new words in their group, then read them one by one.

The teacher checks their work.

Step 4 Presentation

T: Now, here are some cards in my desk, and you should speak out “What color is it?”, ”What’s this?” , and guess the price of it.

The teacher present the cards, and let students speak out the color of the card and what’s like. Then put them on the blackboard in order.

Ask some students to do this like the teacher.

T: So, we can use “How much…?” to ask the prices.

S1: How much is this T-shirt?

S2: It’s seven dollars.

S1: How much are these socks?

S2: They’re two dollars.

T: Now, please use this sentences to ask about the prices with your partner.
