Teaching method: Performance method, situation approach.
Learning method: The feature of the students in Grade 7 is that they are curious but worried and shy. They are interested in English,but afraid of the mistakes. As a new subject, they hope to learn well and mind the appraisement of other persons. So I think it is very important to encourage them to think and solve the questions in the right way.
Teaching aids: Objects, multimedia, dummy money
Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Lean-in
Enjoy a song: "Ten little Indians". Revise cardinal numbers.
Ask students to speak out the words .
Step 2 Presentation
1.Use the photos, let students guess who he is.( He is my son. )
T:I want to buy some clothes for my son. Can you help me ?
2.Show the pictures of clothes . Ask: "What's this in English?/What're they ?""What color is it? /What color are they?"Students answer: "It's.../They're..."
3.Teach the new words: socks, T-shirt, shorts, sweater, trousers, shoes, skirt, dollar(one dollar, two dollars...)
Step 3 Game
Challenge Give students one minute to remember the prices.
Step 4 Work on 1a
Match the words with the things in the picture.
Check the answers.
Ask some students to read aloud the words.
Step 5 Listening (1b)
Look at the words in Part 1a. Listen to the tape and circle the words of the clothes you hear in 1b.
Check the answer, and then read the tapes cript.
Step 6 Pair work
Ask the students to work in pairs and practice the conversations about asking the prices of the clothes
or other things.( Go to the shop, choose the things you like , ask the prices.)
