Teaching Procedure
Activity 1: Watch a video clip from Good luck Charlie and answer the following Wh-questions.
1) What do they want to buy? Why do they have to wait in line on Thanksgiving Day?
The laptops are really cheap. People sell them for only 49 dollars. They are at terrific/very good prices.
2) Where can they buy the things?
Ss Compare another two photos: one store on big sale with lots of customers and another with no customers to elicit big sale, at a great sale
3) When can they buy things at a great sale?
Teacher leads Ss to discuss on the occasions when stores are on big sale and get to know some shopping festival home and abroad such as Double Eleven and Black Friday.
4) How do they know things are at a great sale?
They read some ads.
5) Where can we see ads?
On TV, in the newspaper, on the Internet, on the street... So ads can be everywhere.
