三、教学步骤

Step 1. Warm up

Review the dates of different festivals.

Can you say the date in English?

Let’s talk about the festivals in a year.

Step 2. Revision

Work in pairs Ask and answer

Step 3.Presentation

Talk about the New Year Day, then tell students "we have many activities at that time ".Teach the new words according to the pictures.

Step 4. Listening

Listen to the tape for the first time, and finish activity 2a.

Listen again and fill in the blanks.

Step 5.pair work

Ask students to practice about 2c.

Step 6.Survey

Make a survey about their friends' birthday and report it.

Talk about the famous scientists' birthday.

Step 7. Brainstorming

Discuss the schedule of activities.
