②To master the nominal possessive pronouns: mine, his, hers. And master the rules
between adjectival possessive pronouns and nominal possessive pronouns.
四、Teaching Procedures:
Step1.Leading in
Present two pictures, the first one is about learning, the second one is about climbing
mountains. Let students think about the relationship between these two pictures.Then make a summary:Learning is like climbing mountains.
This class we will climb two mountains:1.To learn to use Yes/No questions and short answers.2.To learn to use possessive pronouns:mine,his,hers.
Team arrangement: Divide the students into 3 teams, draw 3 upright lines on the blackboard, which are the symbol of the 3 teams. if you answer more questions in this class,you can climb higher.
Step2.Revision
Review some words and sentences we have learned yesterday:
①Show some pictures about school things to the students, if you know it, stand up and say it quickly.
②Guessing game:show some pictures about school things slowly. T:What’s this?If the students know it,they can stand up and say: This is….
Step3.Climb mountain 1
Turn declarative sentences into general questions.
First, have a Pk among these teams. The teacher says some sentences in Chinese, and
ask some students to translate them.For example:This is my pencil. Is this your pencil?…
Second,ask students to look at these sentences carefully and give them a question: How to turn declarative sentences into general questions? Lead students to find the rules.
Third,the teacher makes a summary and conclude the rules.
At last,ask students finish 3a and check the answers. Then ask students work in pairs to ask and answer with partners, using the things around them.
Step4. Climb mountain 2
Nominal Possessive Pronouns
First,present some pictures to lead students to make sentences like this: Is this your schoolbag?Yes, it is. It’s mine.(The teacher tells students we can also say It’s my schoolbag.)
Second,ask students to look at these sentences carefully,give students some tips,lead them to summarize the relationship between adjectival possessive pronouns and nominal possessive pronouns.
Third: Practice. The teacher provides some pictures and lead students to practice nominal possessive pronouns. Finish3 b by themselves.
Step5. Group work
Find the owner: Put some things into a schoolbag. Then take something out of the schoolbag and find the owner. You only have two guesses! (Provide an example on PPT).
At last, present two pictures about desks. The first desk is very dirty.The second desk is very clean and tidy. Then ask them: which one do you like best? The teacher have a check of the students’ desks. Then appeal students to take good care of their school things.
