六、教学过程
Step One: Review and lead in
Review the three prepositions “on, in, under” by listening to a song named ON, IN, UNDER.
Step Two: Presentation
1.?Present?the?new?words.
Students work together and try to read the words by themselves. Then the teacher shows the pictures on the screen to emphasize the difficult pronunciation.
Ask?students?to?work?on?1a.?Match?the?words?with?the?things?in?the?picture.?Then?check?the?answers?with?the?class.
Three groups --- have a competition. Look at the picture in 1a, some things in the room will appear one by one. If the student knows the name of the things, stand up quickly to speak out the name. If the answer is right, his/her group will move a step forward. At last let’s see which group can get to the top and get the red flag first.

The students have learned the words in the picture already. This game requires the students to concentrate on the things that will appear and react at once. It will stimulate the students to take an active part in the class.
Step Three: Listening and speaking
1. Listen and circle the things Tom wants from his room. Then check the answers..

Writing a full sentence is difficult for students, so tell the students they can write down the things Tom wants first. Then add“are/is”after the things. In this way, they only need to listen for the “on/in/under” phrases.

T:?Where’s?the?ruler?Ss:?It’s?on?the?bed.
4.?Listen?and?repeat.?Then?read?the?dialogue?in?roles.
Students work in pairs to practice the conversation. One student is Mom, the other student is Tom. The teacher can work with a student as an example first.

Learning by speaking is important in language learning. The role play supplies the students a real situation to use the vocabulary and target language they have learned.
