Step II. Revision

Review the prepositions and the expressions by playing a game.

There are 4 questions in the apples. The students have a competition and review what they learned in Unit 4. The students are interested in the game.

Step Ⅲ. Pre-reading Talk about the picture

1. 2a Write the words you know for the things in the picture.

Let the students write down the words.

2.Pair work.

A: Where is the …? A: Where are the…?

B: It is in/on/under the…. B: They are in/on/under the….

Two students work in a pair and do the dialogue. The the students can remember the things in the picture.

Step Ⅳ. Fast reading

1. Read the passage(2b) and answer the questions. Is Kate tidy? Is Gina tidy? _________________________

Let the student read the short passage as quickly as they can. Then answer the question.

2. Task 1—Listen and fill in the blanks.

Let the students listen to the tape and fill in the blanks. Then the students can understand the short passage.

I'm Kate, and my sister is Gina. I'm tidy, but Gina is not. In our room, my __________and tapes are in the bookcase. My keys are ________ my schoolbag. I have a clock. It's _________ the desk. Gina's books are everywhere--- on her bed, on the sofa and ________ the chair. The white model plane is hers. It's under the desk. "Where are my ________? Where's my ruler? Where's my schoolbag?" Gina always asks.

Step Ⅴ. Careful reading

Listen to the tape and read along with it.

Let the students read the short passage along with the tape. Try to understand the passage. Then let them do task 2 and task 3 in the paper.

2.Task 2—Read the passage and answer these questions.

③Whose white model plane is it? Where is it?_____________________________

3. Task 6—Read the passage carefully and complete the chart in 2c.

Retell the article with the help of the chart.

Step Ⅶ. Group work.Design your ideal rooms.

Design your ideal(理想的) rooms in your groups.

The teacher show the ideal room, then let the students design their ideal rooms and discuss in their groups, next show their rooms to the classmates. At last, let the students try to write the passage.
