【Analysis of the Teaching Material】
Teaching Material: The content of this lesson is Senior High English Book1, module3 Eating Habits---- “Project: Eating habits round the world" This module is about healthy diet, including the daily choice of diet, whose aim is to let students understand the formation of a healthy diet is the basis of a healthy body. The material of this class contains a large vocabulary related to disease. and food. Healthy eating is a heated issue nowadays. Many brands were reported to have added food additives in their products and made foods poisonous. Thus it is very important for students to learn about healthy eating. This unit is close to our real life and its materials are quite interesting. By studying of this module, we’ll enable students to know how to have healthy eating habits. At the same time, let the students learn how to listen, speak and write. From this lesson, it starts from listening, develops to speaking and ends in writing.
Listening: There are two parts in listening. The first part is a news, which is about an introduction for healthy and unhealthy eating, aiming to practice students’ listening ability and enlarge the vocabulary. The second part is to listen to a video which is about how to eat healthy, take notes of useful suggestions on healthy eating and then apply to writing tasks.
Speaking is an activity based on the listening part. Show students two role-play situations:
one is between friends, who need to design a menu. The second is between doctors and patients, who will discuss the problems brought by unhealthy eating. Instruct students to discuss these two situations and make a conversation. About five minutes later, invite three or four pairs to show their conversation.
Writing is a summary of listening and speaking parts. Provide students with a speech draft to give advice in order to call on more people to keep a balanced diet.
Module Position The Listening & Speaking part is based on the Introduction and Reading parts, which supports this lesson very well, including words and phrases.

(1)The students can master the usage of the important words and expressions in the listening materials.
(2)The students can use English to express their own ideas.
2. Ability objects
(1) To develop the students’ abilities of listening and speaking.
(2) To guide students to set up effective studying strategies and summarize the listening skills . (3) To train the students’ abilities of studying by themselves and cooperating.
3. Emotion or moral objects
(1)By completing the task, help Students to learn more about problems with diet, a balanced diet and nutrition.
(2)Stimulate students’ sense to have a balanced diet.
(3)Strengthen students’ sense of group cooperation, help them set up self-confidence in speaking and writing.
【Teaching important and difficult Points】
The important points:
1. To know and master some important words and expressions such as a balanced diet, low in calories, high in nutrients, sugary, processed meat, diabetes, grain, sodium, ideal, nut, consume, consumption, legume etc.
2. To practice students' listening and speaking ability.
