教材分析:本教材选自牛津教材高二下Unit1?reading,本单元的主体是beauty。Reading主要内容是三个人在一个广播节目中讨论对美的不同理解和人们如何获得美的方式。文中的两人对美的看法不同,而且各自从自己的角度用不同的例子来阐述分析了对美的看法,因此本课的设计重点放在了两方面:一是学生总结文中两人的不同论点和论据;二是通过理解文章内容,帮助学生形成对美的正确认识和对自我的积极认识。?
学情分析:高二学生已具备了一定的查找信息,归纳总结信息的能力。本课主要目的是让学生运用和操练这些能力,并且通过已知信息来形成发展自己的观点。高二学生有了一定的词汇和语法能力作为基础,教师应该引导培养他们运用合理的语言表达自己的观点。

Step1.Brainstorm &?Lead-in?
Greet the students and ask students to enjoy some photos of different women, and ask students the questions: Do you think people in the photos are beautiful? What is beauty in your mind? Then let them brainstorm the questions and share their own opinions.

Skimming
Let students read the transcript quickly, paying attention to the title and pictures, to answer the questions:

2). What is today’s topic of the radio program?

Scanning
Ask students to read the transcript again to choose the proper main idea for each paragraph.

Careful-reading
Lead students read the text again and more carefully to get more details, filling the missing information in the following table according to the text.
