Step 1 leading in (1 minute)

T: From the screen we know what we will learn today, That is : dealing with new words and expressions in reading comprehension.

教师活动:开门见山的告诉学生本节课的主要内容。

学生活动:了解本节课的主要内容。

设计意图:通过小组活动,猜出词义,并发现解题的关键。

Step 2 task-based activities (5 minutes)

T: The whole class first find out your task according to the paper; Then discuss with your partners to guess the meaning of the underlined words. And try to discover the skill of guessing new words. A few minutes later, please tell me your answers. Let’s begin.
