2) Illustrate the meaning of manners;
3) Play a video clip and help students distinguish between good and bad manners;
4) Present some quotes of greater thinkers from home and abroad to stress the importance of good manners, and encourage students to be well-mannered.
Step 2: Pre-reading
Today’s focus: conversation manners.
1) Ask students questions:
a. Have you ever had a conversation with a foreigner? Can you share it with us?
b. How should we start a conversation with a foreigner in English?
2) Set a situation: Suppose you were Li Hua on a bus. Try to make a small talk with a foreigner beside you before the bus stops.
