鲁迅中学的学生中考成绩属于全区中下水平。本次上课为借班上课，上课班级学生的英语成绩在全校高一年级四个平行班中属于中上水平。就平时的测验情况而言，该班英语成绩相对稳定在年级四个平行班中第二的位置。

就英语学习整体而言，初高中衔接尚未完成，语法分析能力欠缺：遇到语法题目，常凭“语感”做题，无法说清缘由。同时，本班学生的口语表达能力参差不齐，除个别学生外，多数同学无法用英语进行有效的交流。在学习习惯方面，本班同学更习惯依靠老师讲授知识以及“单打独斗”型的学习模式。

基于上述学情，本节语法课为本班学生“量体裁衣”，设计多种以学生为主体的学习活动，以期切实提高学生对语法规则的探索能力、鼓励学生主动表达观点、引导学生在活动中学习语法、体会语法、运用语法。

have a thorough command of grammatical rules of the subject clause.

practise and use the subject clause correctly and properly in theme-based activities.

have a more positive attitude towards study by recalling their shared experience with classmates and teachers.

Learning Aids: multimedia, computer, projector and handouts

Learning procedure:

I. Pre-learning

1. Ask the students to fill in the blanks according to three English songs.

2. Introduce what subject clause is.

II. While-learning

Complete the sentences with proper conjunctions.

1) Students complete the sentences by using suitable conjunctions.

2) Students understand and point out subject clause in each sentence.

3) Students find out the reasons why they choose these conjunctions.

2. Find out the rules.

1) Group work: students try to figure out the rules of subject clause by making comparison between the given sentences.

2) Summary the rules of subject clause:

·The subject clause must be in a natural word order.

·Although the conjunction “that” has no concrete meaning, it cannot be omitted when it is placed at the beginning of a subject clause.

·The conjunction “whether” can be placed at the beginning of a subject clause while “if” cannot.

·In order to keep the balance of a subject clause, the word “it” should work as the anticipatory subject and be placed at the beginning of the sentence.
