Look at the title and pose possible questions.
While-reading
To help the students figure out the setting, leading characters and the initiating event in the story
To guide the students to track the development and climax of the story
To lead the students to understand the ending and prepare them for the following tasks
Read paragraphs A-C, fill in the blanks and answer the questions raised by the teacher.
Read paragraphs D-N, and answer the questions raised by the teacher.
Read paragraph O, and answer the questions raised by the teacher.
Post-reading
To encourage students’ further reflection on the story and provide an opportunity for practicing their writing and reading skills
Summarize the main idea of the story with no more than 60 words.
Add an ending to the story with a little imagination and give a presentation.
Homework
1. Finish the translation exercises.
2. Write a complete ending for the story.
