Step 1 lead-in (5’ )
1. Brainstorming
Ask Ss to think back and try to remember poets or poems from their early childhood, either in Chinese or in English.
2. Play a game. Guess what poem it is?
The teacher will show some famous Chinese poems which have been translated into English on the screen. Then, Ss look and guess what poem it is or recite the poem.
Discussion
Ask Ss to discuss the reason Why did people write poems, and share the answers.
Step 2 While-reading (20’)
Ask students to get the main idea of the text.
