Know the words and phrases in the further reading section including their pronunciations, spellings, uses and transformations

Know the following scientific methods to learn English vocabulary: classification, affixation, conversion and word web.

Procedures

Part1. Nouns

Step1: Presentation

Present all the nouns in English and ask the students to pronounce them correctly and tell their Chinese meanings. Remind the students to pay attention to their affixation.

Step2: Memory Test

Present some key words and phrases one by one and ask the students to translate them into English or Chinese.

Step3: Application

Present some pictures and sentences with blanks to be filled with the correct nouns learnt before. Remind the students to pay attention to their correct forms.

Step4: Transform the words and fill in the blanks

Ask the students to find the roots of the following nouns and fill in the blanks in the correct form of the words

Stage2. Verbs

Step1: Presentation

Present all the verbs in English and ask the students to pronounce them correctly and tell their Chinese meanings. Remind the students to pay attention to their affixation.

Step2: Transformation of the verbs in tense

Step3: Application

Present some sentences with blanks to be filled with the correct verbs learnt before. Remind the students to pay attention to their correct forms.

Step4: Learning of conversion

Present three sentences with different parts of speech of the word further , and ask the students to tell the part of speech of each word to arise their attention to conversion
