五．Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Lead--in
By asking students“If you have enough money and time , which city do you want to travel in
China?And why ?”,the teacher will shall her own dream city with students by enjoy a voice that
had been recorded to give her answer. That will be Xiamen --- A Lively City.
Step 2. Make predictions according to the topic.
Students are asked to think about this question “What will be mentioned , when we talk about a city?”
Step 3. Fast-reading :The main idea of each part.
Part 1 Line 1--11 Business district and western district
Part 2 Line 12--18 The location of Xiamen
Part 3 Line 19--25 The description of Gulangyu Island
Part 4 Line 26--42 The climate and tourism of Xiamen
