Science, whether physics or chemistry, plays an important role in our daily life. In this module, some general knowledge about science are involved. And in the reading part, students will learn how to write an experiment report, which is quite essential to students in their further study.
However, students are not familiar with the English version of the name of lab tools and words related to science. So in the introduction part, tools and some words about science will be introduced. Besides, numbers are also frequently used in science, so in the introduction and speaking part, the reading and recognizing of all sorts of numbers will be introduced as well as practiced.

Step 1 Lead-in
Task 1: Job Guess
Instruction: To get SS to look at the picture in which people are in white, and guess what they are.
When we see people in white, we pop up the idea of doctor in the hospital. While, in fact, scientists who work in the lab are usually in white. So by using the pictures of lab workers in white, students’ interest will be aroused and the topic of this module will be introduced.
Step 2 vocabulary
Task 2: Introduction of Lab Tools in English
Instruction: Pictures of different kinds of lab workers will be given. No matter they are careful lab worker, crazy worker or careless worker, they all have some tools(which are also called facilities or apparatus) at hand. so next, pictures about tools will be showed and it’s English version will be given and some tips will be given.
