This lesson is intended for students in Grade One for 2 months. They are just getting used to their high school life and eager to learn something knowledgeable. They have their own attitudes and opinions. Psychologically, they regard themselves as an adult. They have dreams and passion for their future. So I should try my best to help them make a right evaluation about themselves, which enables them to set up a proper career goal.

This module is a revision of the whole Book 1, among which the speaking part emphasizes on what people do and the jobs students are interested in. Meanwhile, students are required to tell their own reasons for their chosen jobs. In the reading part, two progress reports are presented by two Senior High students, with comments from their teachers. Actually, there is no activity designed for listening in this module. But great importance is attached to listening, so I make the two reading materials into audio, intended for training students’ ability to grasp the key information of listening materials. In this lesson, students are encouraged to listen to the progress reports and talk about theirs. Meanwhile, they are invited to share what jobs they prefer to do and the reasons according to their own progress of the first two months in high school life.
