1. What is a notice?

A?notice?is?usually a written announcement in a public place that gives information or instructions. It is widely used to announce events and celebrations, births and deaths, or to issue public instructions, to make appeals and to extend invitations.

NOTICE

There will be an English lecture on the importance of English learning by Professor White from Beijing University. It will be given in the stadium from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30p.m., on Friday, February 27. All the students are expected to attend it on time. After the lecture, please go back to your classrooms and have a discussion on the report. Every student is asked to make a plan for learning English well.
