[Teaching procedures]
Step1 Warming-up
Ask students what their feelings are today, and then Ask students to sing the song You are my sunshine together with me, enjoy the music and try to relax themselves.
Ask students to listen to some difficult kinds of music, tell the name of each one and use some adjectives to describe it and express your feelings during listening to this kind of music.
Step2 Speaking
Talk about likes and dislikes
Ask students watch a video from my brother Michael and his friend Ty carefully and then tell me what they are talking about.
Encourage the students use some other words or phrases to express their likes or dislikes.
The dialogue to help them talk about their likes and dislikes.
A: What kind of music do you like?
B: My favorite kind of music is..., because it is...it makes me.... In addition,/besides/moreover....
A: Who's your favorite musician,singer or composer?
B: I am fond of.... Because....
A: What kind of music don't you like?
B: I don't like/ can't stand.... It's dreadful/awful!
Step3 Writing
Tell students two important points during they write the email.
A. Person: first person
B. Tense: present tense
And then show them a cartoon character: Bay-max. First they can see the head of Bay-max and then the body, at last the legs of Bay-max. And ask them how many parts of Bay-max? Then ask them how many parts of an email?
