Step 1. Lead in
Compare two pictures to show the picture with various flowers is more beautiful than the one only with one kind of flower, which means a good composition should include various sentence structures.
Step 2. Modify sentences
Show students’ compositions, some part of which are made up of simple sentences. Try to modify the sentences to complex ones.
Step 3. Correct the mistakes
Four students write the advanced sentences on the blackboard while others correct their mistakes.
Step 4. Enjoy and comment on a possible version
