The focus of a reading class is to train Ss reading skills and strategies. Harris views reading as an interactive process which involves not only the perceptions of graphic symbols but also the memory traces of the reader’s past verbal and nonverbal experiences. In the light of reading as an interactive process, teaching techniques as bottom-up and top-down are in integrated to help Ss develop reading skills and strategies. And task-based approach will be adopted because communicative tasks guarantee Ss to use what they’ve learned in real communication.
