The students are in Senior1. First, as teenagers, it is necessary to help them to know film review because it is practical in their daily life. Second, they have had the basic English skill to learn, discuss and share their opinions about this topic. However, they may never really think about what is a film review and the attitude towards films from different culture.
3. Teaching Aims in English Core competence(核心素养具体表现)
I hope through the class, students are able to:
☆Understand some words, sentences and expressions about film review.
☆Know the structure of film review is and how to talk about the favorite film.
☆Learn the right attitude towards western and Chinese films and the desire to tell Chinese stories
The following is the details of my teaching aims in English Core competence.
Language skill(语言能力): Through this class, students can master (listen, speak, read and write) some important words, sentences and expressions about film review.
Learning ability(学习能力):
☆Students can preview the teaching content and finish the learning documents before class.
☆Students can discuss with others to solve the problems they meet.
☆Students are willing to share their own opinions and can accept other different opinions from others.
Thinking quality(思维品质):
In this class, I will improve students’ thinking quality by mind map and two tasks I designed at the post-reading part: One is critical thinking(Discussing the attitude towards western and Chinese films ) and the other is creative thinking( Making an interview about the favorite film).
Cultural awareness(文化意识):
Through the class,I will get the students know that:
☆It is cultures and the national spirits contained in different films.
☆They should not only pay great respect to western films,but also cherish and protect our Chinese films.
☆Most importantly,it is necessary to get the world have a better understanding of Chinese culture and films by our good mastering of English.
4. Teaching Key and difficult points
☆Important point: How to help the students know the structure of film review.
☆Difficult point: How to help the students finish the mind map and practice their thinking quality.
5.Teaching Methods
In this class, I will use “PWP” teaching method in this class, which means “Pre-learning” “While-learning” and “Post-learning”,
☆Pre-learning: I will give students the learning documents in advance so that they can learn the topic,
