Great European Cities

= 1 ﹨ ROMAN ﹨ MERGEFORMAT I . Analysis of Teaching Material.

The material is a reading passage about the European cities. It introduces four famous cities in Europe. The cities are Paris , Barcelona, Florence and Athens. It focus on the location, position, the famous places of each city. It also present some key words and expressions which the students can use to describe a city.

= 2 ﹨ ROMAN ﹨ MERGEFORMAT II . Analysis of the students.

As the senior 1 students have already known some information about foreign cities, the students may be interested in the passage. However ,the students who will attend the class are not good at speaking, listening, reading and writing. Besides, they almost never have a class all in English.

= 1 ﹨ GB3 ﹨ MERGEFORMAT ① One of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks is the Church of the Sagrada Familia, which was designed by an architect called Antonio Gaudi.

= 2 ﹨ GB3 ﹨ MERGEFORMAT ② Florence is an Italian city which became famous because of the Renaissance, a great artistic movement which began in the 1300s and lasted for three hundred years.

Ability aims

A. Enrich the students’ knowledge of places of interest in some European countries .

B. Enable the students to describe some famous cities in the world

3.Moral Goals.

A. To learn English well is a must for you to travel further.

B. Every country in the world has its unique culture, and we should respect, understand and learn from the different cultures.

C. Remind them of the importance of loving our country.
