Teaching Procedures:

1. Lead in

a Show a video about some students’ puzzle and ask students to deal with it together.

b. Compare some students’ work , and decide which one will get higher scores in their first impression.

c. Analyse the reasons why it will get higher scores?

d. Summarize what makes a good invitation.

Pre-writing

Clear structure:

a How many parts does a invitation contains? What are they?

b. Activity description: How to describe activities (time/place and sequences of events)

c. Highlights of an invitation: Varied sentence structures and advanced vocabulary

d. Practice: Write a letter of invitation

4. After-writing

a. Show students’ samples on the blackboard or on the screen and ask the students to assess them.

b. Ask the students to polish some simple ones using varied sentence structures and advanced vocabulary.

Homework : write a letter of invitation
