【教学过程】
一、导入主题。让同学们看第一幅图，并介绍这座房子是谓语美国东部朋友的房子，去年夏天，朋友来中国看我。一个月后，回到家里后，发现房子被毁坏了，并提出问题：What can destroy her house？让大家猜测，由此引入课文中的提到的两种自然灾害：tornado和hurricane。
二、处理前两部分。让同学们读前两部分并填表.
