Teaching Process:
Step 1 Lead-in
The teacher will show some pictures of disasters to the students and then ask the students to speak out the name of these disasters.
Step 2 Vocabulary Learning
flood, drought, landslide, mudslide, earthquake, volcano, hurricane, lighting, thunderstorm, tornado, typhoon, sandstorm.
In this part, the students should finish the following tasks:
Task 1 Pronunciation of the above words
The teacher will help the students to correct the pronunciation of these words. After that, a competition will be asked to check the students’ ability.
Task 2 Dictation of the above words
In this part, the students should cooperate with their partners(two students form a group). One student tell the Chinese meaning of the words and the other student spell it.
