StepⅠ. Greetings and leading in
1. Lead to the topic by showing pictures and asking questions.
Q: What kind of expressions will nature have when it becomes angry or violent?
StepⅡ. Learning names of some natural disasters
1. List some names of natural disasters by asking one question. Q: What natural disasters do you know?
2. Definitions of natural disasters.
Play a game. Divide the whole class into two groups. The students of one group get some different names of natural disasters and the students of the other group get some definitions of natural disasters. By reading the definitions aloud, play the matching game.
Step Ⅲ. Describing the phenomena during the natural disasters
1. Get the students to choose one kind of disaster and then collect the words and phrases related to it. They can work in groups.
2. Encourage the students to write the words on the blackboard.
3. Make the students pick out some words and make up one or two sentences to describe what happens during the natural disaster.
Eg. When the terrifying earthquake occurs, the buildings shake violently and many houses are destroyed.
StepⅣ. Summarizing the bad results caused by the natural disasters
