Step 1 Lead-in

T: Let me introduce a new friend to us. She is Judy, the keeper of Crazy Zoo. Today, We’ll follow her to have an amazing trip. Let’s visit Crazy Zoo.

Answer this question: What animals can you see in Crazy Zoo?

Step 2 Presentation

What animals can we see in Crazy Zoo?

(1)Guessing games: Let’s listen to the sounds of animals and see the pictures of animals to learn the names of them.

(2)T: Do you like …? Why do you like…? or Why don’t you like…?

Learn how to describe these animals by making conversations.

(3)Animals’ Map

T: Where are …from? Ss: They’re from…

Learn the names of countries by asking and answering.

Step 3 Discussing

Discuss in groups and talk about how to use “kind of” “different

kinds of” “be kind to” “be from” and “come from”.

Step 4 Teamwork?

Topic 1 Welcome to Crazy Zoo. (Divide Ss into groups of five. Two Ss are tourists, three Ss are performing animals. Perform the play in groups.)

Step 5 Listening

T: As a zookeeper, Judy doesn’t know what people think of these animals and where they are from. Can you help her? Let’s listen

to the tape and finish 2a and 2b.

Step 6 Role-play the conversation 2d.

Judy finds a pet dog in Crazy Zoo. Can you help Judy find out

the pet’s owner? Read 2d in pairs and answer these questions.
