1. Language knowledge aim: Enable students to master the words: blow, bury, frightening, last, cycle, situation, expert, forecast……And let them pronounce these words correctly.

2. Language skill aims:

a. Enable students to know how to read the passage and understand it.

b. Get students to talk about sandstorms and some topics about environmental protection.

3. Emotional attitude aims:

a. Let students know how to prevent sandstorms and how to protect our environment

b. Increase and improve their awareness of environmental protection.

Train the students’reading ability.

Step 2 Lead-in and revision:

T: Well, today we will learn Module4 .At first, look at two pictures please.

Picture one. Is it beautiful? What can you see in this picture? Who would like to describe it for us?

T: (show the other picture on the computer screen)But someday something happened. What happened?

T: Well, so today we will learn Module 4 Sandstorms in Asia. As we all know,a sandstorm is a natural disaster. In last module we have learnt some words about natural disasters. Can you think about them? I want two students to come to the front to write down these words on the blackboard. And the other students write them on your notebooks.(Then ask two students to check their words )
