Important points: knowing of some basic and related words and phrases on sandstorms and environmental protection .

Difficult points: How to show students’ own opinions on the topic – what should we do to prevent sandstorms protect the environment

Teaching procedures

Step 1: Lead-in

First,the teacher will show one beautiful picture of nature on the screen and make students answer the following questions:

1, What do you think of the picture or what’s the first impression of it?

2, Can you describe it and do you want to live there?

Then ,the teacher will show more pictures on polluting and destroying environment so as to come to the topic-----sandstorms.

Step 2:Vocabulary revision

The teacher will make students be familiar with the following related words and phrases on sandstorms and environmental protection quickly. Then have a test on the words and phrases.
