Step 1. Lead in
Guess the meaning of some famous words of Confucius.
Introduce the three philosophers and their ideas.
Step2. Discussion
Last month, a terrible accident happened outside our school. A motorbike knocked down a man and ran away. If you were the witness, would you help or not help the injured man, and why?
Step 3. reading
Read the paragraph 1 together, and choose a student share the main idea with us, then fill in the blanks.
Listen to the paragraph 2 and summarize the important information of Mencius and fill in the blanks.
Read paragraph 3 silently, and underline some important information then fill in the blanks.
Step 4. Review the whole passage and retell the ideas of the three philosophers.
Step5. After class activity---role play
If you are one of the three philosophers, introduce yourself to the King in order to be his adviser. If you are the King, which one you will choose, and why?
