Teaching steps:
I. Lead-in.
Simply review last class:some great buildings in the world.
Introduce something about the Three Gorges Dam by using Maozedong’s poems and showing some pictures .
II. Do the Reading by themselves in groups(explore and express yourself).
Give the students a few minutes to discuss and write answers on the blackboard.
Make one of the students be the teaching assistant to give the comments according to the PPT.
III. Do the dictation(show your faults).
Do the dictation on the papers which has been handed out before class when listening to the record.
Ask another teaching assistant to show the ppt of answers and explain why, and the others change papers to do correction.
IV.Useful phrases(show your excellence).
Find these phrases from this passage.
Try to recite these sentences which includes the phrases and write them from memory on the blackboard.
V. Homework.
Try to translate a short chinese poem into English and the other group will guess which poem it is.
