Teaching Procedures

Leading in

Use a sentence to help students review the definition of non-finite verbs (On (see) the witch, the king fell in love with her.) Then ask students to conclude the definition.

Review the main forms of non-finite verbs, and give the topic of this lesson, that is, Non-finite Verbs as attributive

To do as attributive

Teacher gives some sentences for students to observe and translate.

eg: I have something to say.

The Whites have a comfortable house to live in.

He was the best man to finish the task.

The basketball to be held next week makes everyone excited.

Then teacher helps students to conclude how to use “to do” as attributive.

1. 不定式作定语永远放在所修饰词的后面,表示将来。

2. 如果不定式是不及物动词,要加上相应的介词。

3. 序数词或最高级后常用不定式作定语。

4. 不定式的被动式为to be done,表示被动和将来。
