Step 1 Lead-in
Teacher: I’m a teacher; I teach English . Can you join the two sentences together?
Student: I am a teacher ,who teaches English.
Teacher: who can analyze the sentence’s structure ?
Student: Because there is a comma between the two sentences and who clause offers the extra information so second sentence is a non-defining attributive clause.
Teacher: Today we will learn the materials about Ferris wheels to consolidate the language points about non-defining attributive clauses.
Step 2 presentation
Divide the students into three groups to discuss the questions by students .and offer some help to solve some specific questions , if necessary. Ask students to analyze the structures.
Student A 63 answer is which .which is a relative pronoun and is used as the subject.
Student B 64 answer is impressive and it is an adj. to modify the noun view.
Student C 65 answer is attraction .because this is a set phrase tourist attraction.
Student D 66 answer is tallest ,because the world’ show the category, so the adj. should be in the superlative degree.
