Warming up Greetings and pop-up PPT show (about 4 minutes)
Greetings to students and help students know the teaching contents of this class. Get the outline of the passage by showing them an interesting pop-up PPT. This kind of interesting PPT will be surely arouse students’ high attentions. Meanwhile, ask students to keep the question “What does “gap”mean in the title ‘My Gap Year’”in mind and check its meaning after the reading part.

Step-1 Activity 1 Get the meaning of “gap” (about 2 minutes)
Mark wants students to read the first three lines of Para. 1 only and fill in the blanks. It aims to help students know the meaning of word “gap”, because the title of this passage is “My Gap Year”.
