Step 1 .Show the pictures about traffic jams in different cities . Organise the students to discuss what happened in the pictures .

Step 2 . Let’s read a short passage on page 18,and then answer the questions.

1. How many problems does the writer talk about?

2 .What are the causes of the problem?

3. How many solutions does the writer find ?

4.Who are “they” in “They should close the city center” ?

5. Why does the writer divide the passage into two parts?

题目要求：

最近，你班同学围绕”How to solve the problem of heavy traffic”这一话题进行了激烈的讨论，请将讨论结果写成一篇英语短文。要点如下：

交通拥堵的原因：人多，车多，人们遵守交通规则的意识淡薄

建议：1. 建设更多宽阔的道路，开辟更多的公交路线;

2.减少使用私家车，多乘坐公共交通工具，提 偿步行或骑自行车 。

3.遵守交通规则，不乱穿马路。
