There are many different ways to communicate with someone using spoken language. How many ways can you think of communicating with someone if you can’t speak?
2. Make some gestures for Ss to guess what they mean.
3.Ask Ss to work in pairs to show and guess the gesture.1.Discuss the given question with deskmates.
2.Discuss with deskmates what the teacher means.

Listening
(8minutes)
Have Ss make some predictions before listening and check their predictions while listening. Remind students to master the skill of predicting before listening according to their common sense.
Give some relative words and phrases.Make predictions before listening (3minutes)
and check their answers through listening. And then tell their answers to the whole class. (5minutes)培养学生的听力技巧,提高学生获取信息的能力。结合高考英语听说部分的改革,培养学生的听力技巧及获取信息(输入)的能力,同时为下面的说(输出)做好铺垫,以此激发他们的兴趣。

Speaking
(18minutes)1.Ask Ss to listen again and put the pictures in correct order according to the time when they happened.
2.Instruct them how to take notes bout what Lin Pu ,the cyclist and the policeman say and do.
3. Ask S to use some verb phrases or sentences to describe each picture.1.Students listen to the tape again. After listening once, they show their answers.
2.For the second time, students take notes about what Lin Pu ,the cyclist and the policeman say and do while listening. After listening, Ss tell what they say and do.
3. Use some verb phrases or sentences to describe each picture.指导学生做听力练习时做好对关键信息的记录,加深对听力内容的理解,以此提高他们口头表达能力。学生加深了对听力故事的理解,他们踊跃回答问题。学生的英语语言组织能力和表达能力得到提高,同时为下一部分的故事表演做好铺垫。
