Step 1 Lead-in
Lead in through a guessing game. Get the students to guess “Who are the great scientists” according to the teacher’s descriptions.
Step 2 Pre-reading
Get the students to experience the seriousness of hunger through showing some pictures. Ask them to guess which scientist helped to solve the problem of hunger. Then get them to predict what the passage is about according to the title.
