Greetings & Lead-in
Step 1. Greet the students as usual.
Step 2. Stress the importance of science and scientists first.
We are now living in a world of science. We are enjoying the benefits of science in almost every aspect of our life.
Then get the students to discuss the following questions in groups of five:
Who do you think is the greatest Chinese scientist? Why?
After the discussion, ask some students to share their opinions. If Yuan Longping is not mentioned, lead the students to him with the question:
What do you think of Yuan Longping?
