Step 1 Warming-up
Finish off part 1 and 2 on page 16,According to the information in part 1 , the students can get to know the functions of different kinds of imperatives, such as telling people what to do , giving instructions and giving advice , making recommendations and suggestions, and for making offers .
Step 2 Presentation
Ask the students to look at the first 2 signs and read what they mean
Ask them to complete the meaning of the other three individually, then check with a partner.
Call back the answers from the whole-class.
Ask the students to decide what they do from the list of 4 possibilities.
Step 3 Observation
1 Listen to me carefully.
2 Come in and sit down, please.
3 Don’t close the window – it’s hot.
