Step1 Lead-in
T: Good morning,boys and girls. Today we continue to learn module 1, British and American English. We will talk about the speaking and writing part. Firstly, I would like to play a game with you. It is thumbs up and thumbs down.
Task 1 Game( Thumbs up and thumbs down)
In this part, I will ask students to stand back to back with their desk mates and then I will show some sentences. If the students agree, thumbs up. If they disagree, thumbs down. Then they will turn around and share their reasons.
Step 2 Presentation
Task 2 Introduction
In this part, I will ask students ‘which English do they like best?’ After that, I will give them 2 minutes to read the notes in activity 1 and then introduce their favorite English.
Task 3 Game
T: For the whole week, we have talked so much about English, and that is the native language of most foreigners. Do you know the native language of our country? That is Chinese.
After that I will invite a student to read the paragraph in activity 3 and lead to the game.
In the game part, I will show the students four Chinese characters in different writing system,such as jiagu wen and jin wen. They will try to get the right answer.
After the game, I will introduce the history of Chinese.
Task 3 Mini debate
T: Chinese has a really long history. I am wondering maybe one day Chinese will replace English to be the lingua franca. Do you agree with me? Thumbs up and thumb down.
