Teaching procedures
Step 1. Introduction
Introduce the definition of a film review. Let the students read the definition together in order to let the students learn about the film review.
Step 2. Structure
Show the structure of a film review. The film review is often composed of three paragraphs. Paragraph one: settings. Paragraph two: the main plot of the film. Paragraph three: the comments or reviews of the film.
Step 3. Content
Show the short video of a film and the writing materials to let students know the content of the writing they will write.
Step 4. Language
Give four tips about how to polish the writing languages. Students discuss in groups to finish the exercises about the sentences-making.
Step 5. writing
Students write the film review in 15 minutes. When writing , they can use the phrases, sentences , structure or methods they learned.
Step 6. writing show
Show two volunteers’ writing drafts on the projector. Students discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the writings.
