2. Analysis of students
As students of Grade two, the students have had a certain amount of vocabulary after so many years’ of English study. On one hand, their English has reached a certain level. On the other hand, they may have problems understanding the reading material because of poor vocabulary. Besides, as a result of some new words and the length, students may find it a bit difficult to master.
II. Teaching Objectives
Objectives of knowledge and skills
To help student learn expressions used to describe a sports game or the tools used in some sports.
Objectives of progress and methods
With the deductive method, students can browse their brain for more words. At the same time they can apply the words into practice.
3. Objectives of emotion, attitude and values
To help students learn more about sports and learn from some great sports personality.

Teaching important points: learn to describe different sports
Teaching difficult points: enable to describe their favorite sports star and their contribution in their field.

Ⅴ. Teaching procedures
Step1---Leading-in
Teacher :show students some words of sports and ask them to point out the ball games. Later the words gymnastics and boxing
Students: read out the ball games and learn the new words
Purpose: Use some familiar sports games to arouse students’ interest in the lesson.
Step 2---Presentation
Teacher: present the word about sports games as well as sportswear, sports fields and bats used in the games.
Students: Try to remember according to their memory and the English explanation.
Purpose: to present the topic of the text.
