【Analysis of the Teaching Material】
Teaching Material: The content of this lesson is Senior High English for China Book 5, module 5. The great sports personality---Listening. By learning this module, we’ll enable students to know the introductions of the sports stars and the sports spirit from them. At the same time, we are learnt to love doing sports to arouse the love for life and live a meaningful life by learning from the sports spirit.
Listening materials: I organize the three listening materials elaborately.
The first listening material is to give the main purpose of our class-----to vote for the greatest sports personality. At the same time, we can learn listening skill1---:-to know the questions or purpose before listening.
The second listening material: Jordon’s introduction is chosen as the second part of listening to show that we introduce a sport star by time order. The teacher also made a micro-lesson by himself to simplify the listening or arouse students’ interest. At the same time, we know Listening skill 2------Learn how to read the time.
The third listening material: The introduction of Kip Keino is selected to show that we introduce a person by logic order--- to describe his typical event. Meanwhile we learn from Kip Keino to persist doing sth. (the sport spirit).Then I arrange the group work to imitate what we learnt today. Meanwhile students are cultivated to learn Listening skill3: imtate, record, and improve.

Knowledge objects
The students can master the useful words and expressions in the listening materials , that is to accumulate the related vocabulary on the topic.
The students are familiar with how to read years or numbers.
Ability objects:
To develop the students’ abilities of listening and speaking.
To guide students to set up effective studying strategies and summarize the three listening skills.
To train the students the abilities of studying by themselves and cooperating.
Emotion or moral objects
By completing the tasks, help students increase the interest in doing sports and learn the sports spirit from the great sports personality.
【Teaching important and difficult Points】
The important points:
(1)To guide students to set up effective studying strategies and summarize the three listening skills.
(2)To train the students the abilities of studying by themselves and cooperating.
The difficult points:
Work in a group of three, one is a reporter, the other two person say their own greatest sports personality individually.
How to break through the difficult points:
Instruct students to use different listening and speaking strategies according to different activity requirements. The enough guides are provided to make it easy for them to complete.
