Teaching Steps:
ⅠWarming up
let the students brainstorm some musical instruments.
show the Ss some pictures of musical instruments and let them tell what are they, such as piano, guitar, saxophone; violin, trumpet, drum, accordion, harmonica
play the music and let the Ss tell what musical instruments are they, meanwhile, give brief introductions of some of them to them, such as erhu, pipa, lute, guzheng, konghou, harp, yueqin. Let the Ss find the similarity of these instruments: stringed instruments.
Ⅱ Reading
pre- reading
(1) Brainstorm musicians and famous music stars, telling why you like them.
(2)Suppose you have an interview with a musician, what questions will you ask?
Fast- reading
Let the Ss read the passage as fast as they can, and complete the chart.
Intensive – reading
Let the Ss read the passage carefully and complete the questions.
