1.Teaching Content Introduction
This is a class which trains students’ skills of guessing the unknown words and expressions in reading comprehension.It introduces some specific skills.This type of question of"Guessing the meaning of words" has a certain amount of weight in the reading of the college entrance examination. There are two or three questions in the reading every year, which takes up a certain amount of weight.However, our students' skills in this area are weak, and they have no specific skills to do it. Therefore, it is necessary for us to train their guessing skills.
2. Students Analysis
In this lesson,the students are on level B.They have had some certain English foundation,but they still lack of some reading skills,especially in the aspect of word guessing.When meeting some unknown words,some students are afraid of them,and some look them up in the dictionary immediately,which seriously affects not only the students’ reading speed but also the students' problem analysis ability.Therefore, high school students should be consciously guided to summarize and grasp some guessing skills.

Step 1 Greetings and Lead in( 3min )
There are two students giving us a role play.S1 plays as a teacher,S2 plays as a student who is late for class.And then show the phrase “visit john”,let Ss try to guess the meaning of this phrase.
Ask Ss “What will you do when meeting some new words?).
( Aims:to arouse Ss’ interests and lead to the topic we will talk about today.)
Step 2 The problems we meet
