该设计围绕外研版选修六模块二Fantasy Literature的第一节阅读课展开，该文章的主题是The Cat That Vanished.本模块的主题是奇幻文学，故围绕这一主题，给学生课前布置作业，了解奇幻文学，通过阅读奇幻小说和电影，帮助学生初步学会欣赏奇幻文学，拓展知识面，提高文化素养，从文学中获取乐趣。同时，学生可以合理利用互联网资源，以小组为单位准备资料，并在课上展示。这样不仅拓宽了英语学习的渠道，极大地调动了学生主动学习的积极性，同时，锻炼其与他人协作的能力。

在学生展示完奇幻文学的代表作品后，自然导入到本模块的阅读的文章。本教学设计是一节阅读课，在课前学生已经对单词有所把握，课堂上主要处理阅读，由于本篇文章属于小说题材，阅读量大，又由于奇幻文学的特点，文章不太好理解，因此，本节阅读课一共分为三个任务，前两个任务是本节课的重点，把握文章的整体结构和框架，掌握不同部分之间的逻辑关系。第三个任务主要是获取细节信息，设计填空题帮助学生准确把握细节信息。最后，让学生用画笔描绘出新世界，或者续写故事，这需要学生对文章的把握，也有利于学生调动起自己的想象力。

The Analysis of Reading Material

The topic of this module is The Cat That Vanished, which is a kind of fantasy literature. So at the beginning of the reading class, teachers should give students some information about fantasy literature. What’more, it can develop students’ love for literature and guide them to take delight in reading. In the second part of the passage, students will learn more detailed information.

The Analysis of Students

The students are in Grade 2, who have the ability to obtain information by reading. And some students can freely express their own ideas in English. In the meanwhile, they do have access to various information with the help of modern Internet. Before the reading class, I have assigned a task to introduce works of fantasy literature. They can collect information outside of the class. Besides, they can also master some phrases and sentence structures to describe them, which will be of good help to writing.
