Teaching procedures:

Step I:Greetings

StepII: Leading -in

Lead in the topic by enjoying a video to arouse students’ interest in the class. Meanwhile, make students more active in the class. Students need to guess the theme of the class.

Step III:Picture discription

Ask the students to discribe the picture on page 31 to practice the sentence stucrures“be doing...when...” “V-ing...,+句子”and to guide the students to the passage.

StepIV: Fast- reading

1.Ask the students to read the first sentence of each paragraph and make sense of the order in which the author develops the passage.

2.Ask them to skim the passage and try to fill in the blank.

Divide the passage into 3 parts and find out the main ideas for each part.
